Silence is Powerful
I was inspired by my favorite book, The Weight of Silence. I really wanted to draw create a piece that connected to me. I used a 12"-18" sheet of drawing paper, pencil, sharpies, and a ruler. I wanted the emotional words from the quote to pop out and express what I wanted the viewer to feel. I think that the quote really connects with the book. In the book this girl doesn't talk at all. Her dad kidnaps her and makes her hide in the woods. Even though she doesn't talk he puts duck tape over her mouth. To me silence speaks louder then words. That part of the book was my inspiration for this drawing because, to me, it symbolizes what emotions though fecal expressions is more powerful then words being said.
This is a tattoo idea that I found online. I tried changing it and making it more personal. I just really like tattoos and they way they look. I want this to be one of the first tattoos I get. I want a tattoo that expresses my love for music and how much it means to me. I like the way that it turned out. The sharpie rubbed off a little bit so it looks kind of bad.
Emotions of music
Drawing Paper, Pencil, Sharpie, and Highlighter
2015
Drawing
In this drawing I wanted to express how music effects people's emotions. For my drawings I get enspired by something I see or how I'm feeling. I wanted to make my picture pop, so I decided to use highlighters to express the emotions that people get through music. I used a sharpie to outline the girl. I used a picture of one of my friends to draw the girl. My favorite part about the piece was the background. I think it turned out really well and it really makes the drawing pop. I was inspired to draw this because I was having a rough day and music changed my emotions. Music is one of the most important things to me. Though this drawing I wanted to express how music plays with emotions and how music makes people feel. The side that is darker, with the blue and the purple, represents the sad, dark and depressed side of people. The bright, colorful side represents the happy and fun side of people. Overall I think the piece looks really nice.
